This image popped in my head a few weeks ago and won’t leave. I’d love to draw it eventually, but my drawing talent isn’t that great haha.

Destroy- Shepard lives ending.

Normandy in the background, rubble in the forground.

Kaidan looks bitterly happy, one tear sliding down his cheek, eyes closed with his head on Shepard’s head as he clutches her close.

Shepard has her eyes slightly open, obviously in pain, but a small smirk is on her lips and her bloody arm is lifted with her even bloodier hand on Kaidan’s cheek. You can see she just swiped his cheekbone from the bloodtrail left by her thumb.

They’re on the front bottom right corner. They are the closest in the frame, everyone else is slightly behind them.

From left to right:

Tali and Garrus are hugging, Tali is lifted in the air by Garrus, her knees bent in the air.

Liara is openly crying, looking at Kaidan and Shepard happily. Javik stands awkwardly behind her, his hand stretched and you can tell he is about to put a consoling hand on her shoulder.

James Vega is full on kissing Cortez on the mouth, in a friendly happy manner. Cortex is facing the frame, Cortez’s eyes were wide open in surprise with James clutching is face and his back to the frame.

Samantha Traynor has a comforting arm around Joker’s shoulders. Joker looks relieved but is obviously grieving over the loss of EDI. He looks conflicted. Chakwas stands on his other side, her hands covering her mouth as a tear runs down, her omni tool is still glowing, showing that she just did what she could for the moment for Shepard.

Behind the main crew you can kind of see other people including Donnely and Daniel and Adams and Allers and crew celebrating.

So yep, my canon ending of when the crew find’s Shepard. :)

Shepard felt her hands pulse and felt the electric cackle of her biotics as she held his hands in stasis while letting her own run down his arms to cup his head. She began to knead the muscles in his neck and felt Kaidan relax and let his head fall back onto the pillow.

                “Well, if I’d known you’d give in this easily I would have tried it ages ago.” She grinned, running a hand through his hair, over his biotic amp. She continued to massage his head as she ran her kissed him softly. “I meant to ask you how you were holding up after Mars. Your biotics have been better than ever, but how are the side effects?” she asked, kneading her way up, causing Kaidan to groan.

This is part two of my drabble/short story on the events after the Extended Cut of Mass Effect 3, so if you do not want spoilers, do not press Go (and by “Go” I mean, “Read More”)

I had thought about doing a scene where Kaidan is trudging through debris to find her, a la this beautiful work , but when it came to writing it, especially with how Joker is integral to this line of story, this was the only way I could write it.
